World of Din

Character Creation

When you begin Mists of Din, you will create a character by choosing their race, subrace, color palette, and starting class.

It is recommended to try and combine races and classes to create unique synergistic effects.

Races of Din

There are four playable races in Mists of Din, and nine subraces.

Erdman

Erdman people are the most common in Din. They are friendly, but have a dark history of colonization and war.

They are suitable for most combat roles. The Millkfolk are a caste of merchants, painters, and farmers who live on coastal plains. The Stonefolk are a caste of miners, sculptors, and sailors who live among the islands.

Whiskerkin

A secluded people, the Whiskerkin are misunderstood by the world. They have a rich culture in the desert, and are known for delicious cuisine.

The Hunters are a matriarchal nation of strong and dextrous fighters who see magic as a taboo. The Islandkind, however, are secretive, and devote their time to exploring magic and its curious nature.

Astridian

Astridians are a cosmic race hailing from a magical fungal comet that landed upon Din 10,000 years ago.

Their grace, beauty, and rarity make them well-respected folk. Named such after the color of the light that shines from their eyes, the Red Astridians are a warrior caste who use magic as a protective shell, and are devoted to protecting their people. The Astridians of White are born with a deep magical resonance which comes with deep ambition. They occasionally fall into magical obsession or addiction.

Ento

The Ento are a shamanistic race of insectoid beings that emerge from the ground every 100 years. They go on expeditions to learn about the universe and acquire traces of their insectoid god.

The Hercules are a dedicated group of warriors who protect the Ento expeditions from those who would do them harm. The Harlequin are dedicated ritualists who transrcibe their visions. The Stag Ento are explorers who search out signs of divininty and lead expeditions.

Note that the Ento are not yet implemented in the game.

Choose a Class

Classes in Mists of Din each offer unique skills. Once you unlock a skill for a particular class, it becomes available for any class that can use the same category of skills.

The most common skill categories are Technique, Lo-Magic, and Holy Magic.

When you create a character, you will choose one of the following starting classes:

The Swordsman

The Swordsman class is a strong physical fighter class with high resistance to common debuffs.

Skill types: Technique

The Sorcerer

The Sorcerer class uses element-neutral magic in combat. They have 20 bonus Magic Points (MP), making them very potent spellcasters. Many Sorcerer skills have chance-based effects, such as having a chance to refund MP or strike multiple times.

Skill types: Lo-Magic

The Thief

The Thief class utilizes high speed in combat. They have the special ability to Steal items from enemy's potential loot table.

Skill types: Technique, Trickery

Thief is considered a Taboo profession. Characters may treat you differently while you play as Thief. There are unique opportunities for both Taboo and Virtuous classes.

The Cleric of Light

The Light Cleric is a Radiant-aligned Wisdom support caster. Their special ability is Prayer, which grants the entire party a temporary defensive barrier.

Skill types: Holy Magic, Technique

Light Cleric is considered a Virtuous profession. Characters may treat you differently while you play as Light Cleric. There are unique opportunities for both Taboo and Virtuous classes.

About Star Ratings

Every class has a Star Rating, with the lowest rating being 3, and the highest being 5.

The Star Rating of a class communicates the overall power level based on stat growth and skill availability. 5-Star classes are the rarest and most powerful type, and offer the most powerful skills to acquire.
