World of Din

Monsters of Din

Long ago, a sorcerer used dark magic fueled by sadistic greed to create Din. The natural creatures of the world became cursed; many of them trapped in a bloodthirsty rage.

Creatures of pity they may be, the monsters in Din are dangerous and mysterious.

Here is a record of some of the creatures you will encounter in Din.

Note: Reading the following entries may spoil parts of the game for some. Challenge rating is presented as though the monster is about the same level as the player.

Spori & Shroombi

These fungus creatures are somehow related to Faeries. They're quite unintelligent, and frequently attack each other in battle, or simply trip over a stone and die from the impact.

Angry Fish

Found near sources of freshwater in Blimp Valley. They pose almost no threat in combat, but their corpses keep many adventuerers fed. Recommended to be cooked in a simple sauce of butter, spiceroot, and king's peppercorn.

Barely Faerie

A known nuisance. These Faeries are still young, and they need to feed on blood to stay alive. They'll recover as they slurp, making them quite an annoyance. It's not uncommon for unaccompanied novices to be overwhelmed by young Faeries, leaving nothing but a dried husk behind.

Water Slime

Water slimes are a common pest in temperate or tropical climates. When Slimes die they often split into more Slimes. They can cast a party-wide Frost Splash spell, which deals moderate Ice damage.

Waterworks Cholera

Congealed corpses of old laborers that drowned in the Waterworks. They attack by surrounding young adventurers and drowning them in slime.

Gobbo Skeleton

Undead creatures are bound by different rules than the living. These skeletons strike with Piercing damage, which deals extra damage to those not wearing Heavy Armor. Having a Cleric in the party makes them trivial opponents.

Gobbo Ghost

Undead abominations that haunt the living world. They exist somewhere between our world and another, and so are not much affected by physical effects. Some say their stench is the worst aspect of their haunting.

Giant Eye

Lawful-evil servants of a long forgotten demon king. They are often found among ancient ruins or other desolate places, carefully watching for signs for their lost sovreign.
